Frankish knight. Second son of a noble family. Given to the church with the expectation that he'd be a priest or a monk; sidestepped it by becoming one of the Shield-Brethren.

Chivalrous in a way that is all at once endearing and exasperating to his fellows, and perhaps makes him the moral center of any group of assembled Brethren. His overdeveloped sense of compassion is the sort of noble outlook on life that would make most people scoff, yet somehow it works for him, mainly because he so dearly believes it and/or because he is so knightishly handsome.
