The shared mess of fully initiated Shield-Brothers. More broadly, their community/fraternity. Derived from Greek syskenion, the Spartan mess.

A particularly important Kinyen was held in the middle of the 13th century. This Kinyen, held in an abandoned monastery in the forest near Legnica, Poland, would initiate events that would change the fate of those involved and alter the course of history.

Feronantus, leader of the Shield-Brothers, takes input from an unlikely source, a female Binder by the name of Cnán who had traveled in the territories of the conquering Mongols. The knowledge gained persuades Feronantus to split the order in two, sending a select few on an impossible mission, a mission to save what remained of Christendom.
