Capsule Bio
A Dominican priest who survived the Battle of Mohi. Severely wounded, he spent several months recuperating (under the care of a young Hungarian hunter named Ferenc) before beginning an arduous journey across Europe for Rome. Feverish from his wounds (both physical and psychological), he becomes obsessed with the idea that he carries a special message for the Pope.
Upon arrival to Rome, he is assumed to be a cardinal, and as such gets locked in the Septizodium until a new Pope gets elected. As the presumed "tie-breaker," Rodrigo is under intense scrutiny by the Cardinals to see who he will vote for and if he can be swayed.
