I’ve spent most of my time lately bouncing back and forth between making cute games about funny monkeys and working on mad science initiatives for three letter government agencies. Some recent projects include doing metagame design for an MMO for 10 year olds, helping the US Intelligence Community better understand augmented reality and social media, working on an interface design project for DARPA, and making a casual mobile MMO with Jeremy.

In the past I co-founded three startups, in games, mobile, and information retrieval. I also did a stint in venture capital as a principal/EIR at Alsop Louie Partners, worked as a senior exec at Wizards of the Coast and Majesco Entertainment, and in Apple’s Advanced Products group. Before I went straight I was an investment banker at Citicorp where I invented a new class of derivatives and did deals that hid cruise ships.

Other random stuff: was a concert promoter in the ‘80s and helped break lots of now huge bands, am now an apprentice beekeeper, practice Bartitsu (and studied Ko Kondo Karate way back), and watch as much TV as possible.

My main problems are panning and the lack of bookmarks within chapters. These could be solved in a couple of hours by making a mobile-friendly version on the stories.

If you had come out straight from the beginning, saying that you'd start with the i-<Devices>, and not hurried too much with android, I would never have jumped on this train. I guess not announcing it that way is Clever Business Practice, buy to me it smells like you're in over your heads.

Sometimes things don't go according to plan. That's all there is to it.

When do you think it will be released?

Wish I could tell you, but more than once I thought we were just about ready to go and we weren't, so now I will refrain from making predictions. It is a high priority for us to get it out as soon as possible.

The Android app is in the works, but unfortunately development has been a quite bit more time consuming than we would have liked.

As of today, yes, the subscription covers access to The Mongoliad across all clients, and it is our intention for that to remain the case in the future. Sorry for the somewhat hedgy language here, but to an extent we are at the mercy of some of the platform owners, and if they change their policies or practices, we may have to change ours, and we don't want to give anybody unpleasant surprises. We hope that won't happen, and to date we have already worked deals with some platform holders to allow us to offer cross-device subscriptions at one price.
