Other than the 'pedia (thank you, by the way, for all your efforts at editing it!) and the forums, is there any other type of community aspect that you think we're missing? I'd be happy to go link chasing if you have some examples you'd like to share.

Really, it's the information on the Community page that is missing. It would be awesome if there was some way for the art and writing contributed by community members to be available in the apps.

I'm able to read the content in the iPad app, but if I want to participate in the community, I have to go to my PC, or open the browser on my iPad.

I have been reading on my iPad primarily, so for me the experience is very much like reading an eBook. I would really like to see more integration with content from the site. I understand that the app was designed so chapters could be downloaded and read without an internet connection, which is a good feature. I would prefer that the app also have direct access to the 'pedia and the forums without having to open a separate browser window.

So I guess that's a long winded way of saying that while I like the app, I don't feel it really allows for participation and the community aspect is really missing.

I'm going to argue against any efforts to make them match up. The text will be the same, for the most part, but there may be some additional transition editing to make the newly formatted chapters flow more smoothly.

I think the variations are opportunities to discuss flow and audience and all manner of armchair novelist deconstruction. This also makes it more clear that the online/app version will be the work-in-progress/subscriber view.

Good idea. I look forward to seeing the differences.

I love it. So often, I think of the steppes as a desolate place. Your picture reminds me that it can also be a place of great beauty.
