editing or deleting pics

Hi, I posted a pic on the community page, then wanted to replace it with an updated version, so used the edit button - doesn't seem to like it, it says 'Inconsistent data submitted!' It is the same file, same name, same format. I don't seem to be able to delete it either. Should I be able to? Thanks for any advice
